Welcome to Karina’s Extraordinary Life

I’m so, so, so excited to launch this blog in conjunction with my latest global adventure. It has been an unbelievable learning curve for me as I slowly developed the skills necessary to create what you see here on your screen. Don’t be surprised if you continue to see changes and improvements as I introduce myself into the travel blogging community as well as becoming a social media buff 🙂 (Please share with me if you have suggestion or have noticed anything within the site that is not working.)

So the long and short of it all starts today. I traded my job, home and a possibly successful career as a neuroscientist for the unknown, unstable, unexplored, unsung, uncertain and unpredictable. The last few months have complete evaporated. I swear I just made the decision to spend the first stage of this voyage living out of my truck while traveling across North America. Now the blast off date has come and gone.

Truthfully I am writing this introductory entry in a state of emotionally drained exhaustion and physical duress. At least I can only really go up from here. I don’t want to sign off before introducing my new co-pilot. Joining me on this adventure is the brilliant and wide-eyed April Beresford. She is making this giant leap of faith with me. Stepping away from everything she has worked a lifetime for to pursue a world’s worth of new experiences, friends and a new passion behind the lens. I hope her films will add a whole new level of entertainment to my amateur writing and photography.

GOALS

My goals for this site will be to post bi-weekly in the form of personal stories, travel articles, tips and countdowns, photography galleries and short films. Mainly I will be reflecting on our current road trip (scheduled to last approximately 4 month throughout North America) but I will also be adding documents from my experiences around the globe.

CURRENT STATUS

Officially home-free! Goodbye to rent, hello to rising gas prices.
